How Do I Allow a Borrower to Split Loan Origination and First Payment on a Loan in ZimpleMoney?
If a borrower needs to submit a payment that covers both a loan origination fee and their first regular payment, you'll first need to set up the origination fee as an Additional Contract Fee, then guide the borrower to select both components together when submitting payment.
Step 1: Set Up the Origination Fee as a One-Time Fee
- On the loan's Detail Tab, add an Additional Contract Fee.
- Select One-Time Fee and enter the origination fee amount and description.
- Choose whether the fee is Add to Payment (added on top of the first due amount) or Include in Payment(deducted from the first payment rather than added on top).
Step 2: Guide the Borrower to Submit Both Components Together
Once the fee is configured, it appears as its own line item on the borrower's Payment Tab alongside the regular payment amount — similar to how Escrow and Regular Payment appear as separate checkboxes . The borrower should:
- Go to the Payment Tab.
- Check both the origination fee line item and the Regular Payment line item.
- Confirm the Total Payment reflects both amounts combined.
