How Do I Accept a Loan Contract as a New User?
If you've received an invitation to join a loan contract, here's how to accept the invitation and view the loan contract on the ZimpleMoney platform.
If a lender has sent you a loan contract through ZimpleMoney, follow these steps to set up your account, review the terms, and connect your bank account.
You'll first need to create your ZimpleMoney account (see: How to Create a ZimpleMoney Account) then find your pending contract.
Finding Your Pending Contract
Once you've completed registration, any loan contract you've been invited to join appears as a pending item. Pending contracts waiting for your approval are shown at the top of your My Portfolio page, ahead of your other contracts.
If you registered directly through your lender's invitation link, you may be taken straight to the pending contract for review.
Reviewing the Contract Before You Accept
Click on the contract to open it and review the details before deciding whether to accept. This is your opportunity to confirm the terms match what you agreed to with your lender, including the loan amount, interest rate, payment schedule, and any fees.
Every new contract goes through this review stage before it becomes active. All contract participants (including your lender and any other borrowers or guests on the contract) receive the same invitation to review and must each respond before the loan activates.
Accepting or Declining the Contract
From the contract view, you can either Accept or Decline the loan:
- Accept: If you agree to the terms, accepting confirms your participation. Once every participant on the contract has accepted, the loan automatically activates.
- Decline: If something doesn't look right or you no longer wish to participate, declining notifies all other contract participants that the loan will not move forward, even if others had already accepted their part.
What Happens After You Accept
Once the loan is fully accepted by all parties and activated, you'll be able to view complete contract details, including the lender, yourself as the borrower, and any guest participants, along with the loan's configured terms. From here, you can schedule payments, view your payment schedule, post messages to other contract participants, view uploaded loan documents, and manage the other tools available on your loan contract.
If your loan supports electronic payments through ZimpleMoney, you may also need to add or confirm a linked bank account before you can submit payments.
